Finally a course that bridges the gap between Defensive Tactics and Firearms. Firearms training stops at about the 5 yard line and DT starts at about 1 yard. This class covers the most under trained area in Law Enforcement. You'll spend 4 hours in the gym, 2 hours live fire and 2 hours of Reality Based Instruction by Certified Simunition® Instructor. (Everyday for 3 days !) What makes this class different is you'll practice the tactics you learned in the gym on the range and then finally force on force.

This is a two day-course concentrating on mental and physical survival. Mornings will consist of classroom lecture and discussion. Afternoons will consist of demonstrations and hands-on in the gym.
Course length: Two 8-hour days
Cost: $200 per student (minimum of 20 students max of 30)
Plus travel and lodging.
Instructors: Sgt. Jim Detrick and Deputy Don Gulla are both members of the King County's Critical Incident Debriefing Team and Arrestling Instructors or Certified students. Don is a Master Defensive Tactics Instructors certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center.

Arrestling TM Weapon Retention for Law Enforcement Instructor Course

This is a intensive 3 day course that will cover weapon retention and gun disarming  and the most unique gun retention technique in the world, G - W.R.A.P.S. Can you maintain control of your duty weapon with the suspect behind grabbing onto your gun, you will after this course ! This course teaches you how to maintain control of your firearm in your holster, in your hand, on the ground and from the most difficult positions, such as the gang bangers " rear attack takedown." You practice against someone who is really trying to take your gun. You'll learn how to shoot in grappling range and keep the suspect from grabbing you gun. The braced contact position allows you to shoot, throw elbows, cycle the weapon and shoot again even if the suspect has both hands on your gun. These technique have been tested both in training and proven on the street in life and death situations. Student will use SecuriBlank™  and will be instructed by Certified Simunition® Instructors.
Course length: Three 8-hour days
Cost: $300 per student (minimum of 20 students) Plus travel and lodging

Arrestling TM Advanced Control Tactics

Arrestling advance will cover advance control tactics including combat falling while shooting, drawing gun while being knocked down, advance ground control and defense, sparring drills to takedowns, advance weapon retention using the G-W.R.A.P.S. TM System, vehicle extractions, combat shooting around vehicles, knife defense, defense against multiple attackers with officer on ground. Shooting is done in-doors using Airsoft, FX® Marking Cartridges and will taught by Certified Simunition® Range Instructors.

Course Description: This is an Instructor Level/Train the Trainer Course. This intensive 5 day course will cover Weapon Retention, Ground Survival, and How To Run a Defensive Tactics Training Group. 

Deputy Don Gulla’s Arrestling Group is one of the most respected Law Enforcement Training Groups in the world.

Some of the areas covered:

Law Enforcement Patrol Carry Knife Course

Most Officers carry a knife with no formal training or policy to follow. The ol I use it to cut seatbelt with it, won't fly in court when a dept has no policy or training.

Our course is designed to address the Dept's concerns of what type of knives officers are carrying and how it is used in the field.

Course Covers: Knife Carry S.O.P.s, Sample Knife Policies, Why and where to carry a patrol knife, The types of knives and which one to carry, Defensive Tactics with the knife and empty hands, Weapon retention techniques with the use of knives & Empty hands defense against suspect with knife.

Course length: One 8-hour day
